The National Minimum Wage has increased from the 1st October

The main rate for adults aged 21 or over has risen by 11p to £6.19 an hour.

The hourly apprentice rate has also increased by 5p to £2.65.

The National Minimum Wage is set each year by the Low Pay Commission and takes effect from 1st October.  This year's increase was recommended in a report to the government in April.
